Labradorite — The Stone of Transformation
Primary Intention: Transformation
Third Eye Chakra · Transformation & Intuition
The Stone
Labradorite was first discovered in 1770 on the coast of Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries. Its signature flash — called labradorescence — occurs when light enters the stone and reflects between microscopically thin layers of different minerals. The result is an explosion of blue, green, gold, and sometimes purple fire hidden inside what looks like a plain grey rock. Inuit legend says labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis.
The Intention: Transformation
Transformation isn't a butterfly emerging. It's the caterpillar dissolving completely — trusting that something new will form. Labradorite is for the woman in the messy middle. The one who knows she's changing but can't see where it leads yet. The career-changer, the relationship-leaver, the one who woke up one morning and realized her life didn't fit anymore.
Who This Is For
The woman reinventing herself. The one going through a major life transition. The creative who needs to trust the process. The spiritual seeker. Anyone in the messy middle of becoming someone new.
How to Wear Labradorite
Near the Third Eye and Crown chakras — Labradorite's two energy centers. In lithotherapy, this placement amplifies intuitive knowing. The labradorescent flash at the temples is said to activate psychic perception.
Labradorite on a chain catches light with every movement — and in crystal healing, the flash is considered an active energy signature. A pendant at heart level bridges intuition (Third Eye) and emotional wisdom (Heart).
Left wrist for transformation — in lithotherapy, the receiving hand draws new energy in while releasing what no longer serves. Labradorite's flash shifts with your movement, a visible reminder that change is in motion.
Index finger represents vision and direction in lithotherapy. Labradorite here supports decision-making during transitions. The flash reveals itself differently at every angle — like the path forward.
What Labradorite Wearers Say
"I'm going through a career change at 40 and bought this as my 'transformation stone.' The flash on this labradorite is INSANE. deep blue and gold. Every time it catches the light, it reminds me that change can be beautiful. The setting is elegant enough for client meetings."
"Third labradorite piece I've bought from different brands. This is the only one where the flash is visible from every angle. The others you had to tilt just right. The stone quality is genuinely better."
"My daughter is starting university next year and I gave her this bracelet as a 'becoming' gift. She said she feels braver when she wears it, Whether it's the stone or the meaning, it's working. Beautiful craftsmanship."
